I absolutely love when my couples let their personalities shine through on their wedding day. Jennifer originally from New York and Tim a local San Diegan told me at their initial meeting that they wanted an elegant yet relaxed wedding. To see their vision through they picked a fabulous backdrop, the El Cortez Hotel, had important family friends officiate the ceremony, chose an extended cocktail hour so they could join after their photos were completed, went without formal table seating assignments, made a special birthday announcement complete with song and cake for Tim’s darling nieces, and let me not forget, they wore matching converse to the reception
!
I have never attended a wedding without table assignments and I must say after this wedding I am a huge fan! Not only did it allow for their guests to sit with whomever they choose but it created a lot less work and stress for the bride and groom (for those who have gone through the process, table assignments can become quite a hurdle to get through).
To celebrate both their hometowns (New York and San Diego) we had them meet up before the ceremony to take some photos at Balboa Park (a San Diego landmark) and after the ceremony we walked around the neighborhood by the El Cortez for a more urban feel… hence the great picture on the fire escape (does anything say New York more than that?)
Thank you Jennifer and Tim for being such fun to work with! I wish you many years of happiness together![]()
